Tax Conference 2023

Tax in the Spotlight

The one constant in the New Zealand tax system is change.

With over 30 years of providing industry updates and insights, our popular Tax Conference is the flagship event for tax professionals.

Designed to ensure that you keep pace with change, the theme of the 2023 conference is "Tax – In the Spotlight", reflecting the significant public interest in tax leading up to the general election. The programme will focus on recent and signalled tax developments and unpack the election year tax narrative to provide insights.

Conference sessions will be presented by leading tax experts and academics, as well as key government officials, including an address from the Minister of Revenue.

Tax Conference 2023 is designed for tax professionals working within the accounting, legal, public, and academic sectors.

Programme highlights:

  • Taxation – A discussion on likely changes in the near term
  • NZ’s response and implementation of the OECD International Tax Solution
  • The proposed 39% trustee tax rate and trust disclosures - next steps
  • North Island flood response measures - rollover relief
  • Practical updates on the taxation of residential land
  • The avoidance landscape and where to now?
  • GST and case law updates.

The conference gives you the opportunity to connect and network with like-minded tax professionals, while the programme provides you with key insights and practical tools to help enhance your career.
