Content Description

This activity will teach you how to follow a project management process and achieve positive results with performance conversations. You will gain key tips for coaching including: effective listening, questioning and responding with feedback on performance that motivates the recipient to act. Developing the ability to communicate your message effectively through words and behaviour in a direct, honest manner will help you to express negative information constructively, without damaging relationships, and to deal with opposition and objections.

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this activity you will be able to:
• Prepare for and conduct performance development conversations that balance technical objectives with behavioural development requirements.
• Communicate your message effectively, providing constructive feedback that motivates and encourages the recipient to modify their behaviour.
• Assist staff in the development of positive action plans for the future.
