A real world perspective on Cyber Fraud

Wednesday 16 October, 4.00pm

As part of our Building Knowledge series, Henry Fryers will de-mystify cyber attacks, and offer advice on how to be prepared for when attacks happen.
Many Kiwi’s believe that cyber attacks are not prevalent here in New Zealand, and that if they are, that only large businesses holding significant IP are the target.

Henry’s presentation will help the audience to understand the real attacks that have happened (and are happening) to Kiwi businesses – from the panel beater on the corner, retailers, accountants, schools, all the way to targeted attacks on mission critical organisations. This presentation will de-mystify cyber attacks, and demonstrate how simple they really are.   This includes:
  • The things cyber criminals are trying to do in NZ (including numerous real life examples)
  • The main types of cyber attacks and how they work (i.e. what does a ulnerable company look like)
  • What should we do to prepare
  • What should we do if we get attacked
