Ethical Matters

In this webinar you will examine ethics through a different lens by focussing on the shifting ethical expectation of business. You will consider the impact on potential threats to compliance with the fundamental principles in the Code of Ethics and identify strategies to respond appropriately.

Content Description

What does ethical behaviour have to do with business success? Everything. Your reputation is your most valuable asset and behaving ethically is an essential element to both maintaining and enhancing it.

Research has shown that the more often we revisit our ethical obligations the higher the likelihood that we will respond appropriately when faced with an ethical dilemma.

Karen McWilliams, Leader – Policy and Thought leadership discusses why ethical expectations matter to the finance profession and the role of CA ANZ in this changing landscape.

Clare Payne, Ethics Consultant to CAANZ Education, will then discuss the shifting ethical expectations of business including:

  • the transition from profit motive to stakeholder view
  • why this transition is occurring
  • the challenges ahead.

Do these shifting ethical expectations challenge your personal values, beliefs, motivations and attitudes? How does this interact with your compliance with the Code? Work through the issues and potential threats and consider how you would implement safeguards to maintain compliance with the Code.
