Audit and assurance

This series will give you a practical overview of some of the other assurance options open to you. It will help you serve your clients better and profit from the wider variety of offerings clients are looking for.

Content Description:

The demand for assurance options that cover more than the basic audit of annual financial statements is increasing. New standards have been issued to help assurance practitioners meet this demand. This series will give you a practical overview of some of the other assurance options open to you. It will help you serve your clients better and profit from the wider variety of offerings clients are looking for.

Session Information:

Session 1: Overview of Non-Audit Assurance Options

Assurance practitioners have a lot of options to offer clients other than just a financial statement audit. This first session will run over the current environment, key changes and provide an overview of the various assurance options at your disposal.

Session 2: Deep Dive into Review Engagements (ISRE 2400/2410)

A practical look at the requirements of the Review Engagements Standards – how to apply them, use them efficiently and ensure you don’t just do the same as you would with an annual financial statement audit.

Session 3: Deep Dive into Engagements that offer assurance over anything other than historical financial information (ISAE 3000)

In a post truth world how do you know what information you can rely on? The definition of Assurance is providing a declaration of confidence in something. This Standard gives practitioners a framework to give third parties much needed confidence in other information - beyond just the usual historic financial statements.

Session 4: Deep Dive Auditing and Reviewing Statements of Service Performance (SSP’s)

Auditing SSP’s is a new area for many practitioners and a key focus area of CAANZ’s assurance quality review program. This session will help you audit SSP’s effectively and efficiently and tell you what Institute reviewers are looking for.
